About 'Dhoom 3'

While the hunt for the female lead is still on, 'Dhoom 3' will feature Aamir Khan, and Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra in their usual roles.

To be directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, the music of the action genre will be composed by Pritam Chakraborty.

Besides promising to be big, the first version of 'Dhoom', starring Esha Deol and John Abraham, was a blockbuster film of 2004, which managed to garner more than 70 crore.

The second installment, featuring Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, again became a super-duper hit of 2006, by raking in more than 146 crore.

'Dhoom 3' is all set to go on floors by December 2011, and is slated for a Christmas release in 2012

After Esha and Ash in the previous instalments, Dhoom 3 will have a new girl alongside Aamir.

After months of speculation over who amongst the three leading actresses (Katrina, Deepika, Priyanka) will be cast opposite Aamir in Dhoom 3, Yash Raj has revealed that there will be no seasoned actress but a newcomer as the female lead in YRF's most awaited sequel of the Dhoom series.

Yash Raj reveaked, "Aditya Chopra and Director Vijay Krishna Acharya are keen to cast a totally new face to play the female lead role in the movie. And the hunt is on."
Will Dhoom 3 break box office records of Dabangg? Afterall Salman worked with debutante Sonakshi in the film and people loved the pair. Aamir will follow suit as he too will be seen with debutante actress in Dhoom3.

Even as Vikram Bhatt’s Haunted 3D has hit the screens, curiosity to make films in the 3D format seems to be on the rise in the Hindi film scene too. Recently, Ekta Kapoor evinced interest in making the sequel of her recent paranormal activity film, Ragini MMS, in 3D.

Now it has come to light that Aditya Chopra is mulling with the idea of filming Dhoom 3 in the 3D format. He intends taking the action-adventure genre of the film to another level by using the 3D format.
Hollywood films made in the 3D format after the release of Avatar are Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Step Up 3 and Transformers Dark of the Moon while dozens of films have been announced.

Mumbai: It was recently confirmed by the Yash Raj Productions that Katrina Kaif has been picked to do the female lead for their upcoming project ‘Dhoom 3’.

However the role of the female lead in Dhoom 3 comes with a condition, which instates that Kat will be required to wear a bikini for two major scenes in the film.

Kat had done a bikini scene in her debut film ‘Boom’ in 2003. And after that she has clearly refused filmmakers to do a swimwear scene.

A source close to the project revealed to a daily, "Kat is at the final stage of discussions with the producers. Everything else is on track, except for the two bikini scenes. This is crucial as the banner is famous for getting all their leading ladies in swimwear. There`s no way they will write out those scenes just because she`s not ready to do them. During the meetings, Kat has raised doubts on the nature of these scenes, and the makers have assured her they would be shot in the most aesthetic manner possible."

A lot of actresses have worn a bikini on screen, from Kareena Kapoor in ‘Kambakht Ishq’ and Priyanka Chopra in ‘Dostana’. But Kat is reluctant to wear one.

The source adds further, "These days everyone is ready to get into a bikini. It`s a `flaunt it if you got it` mantra. And they are telling Kat that she will lose out on a good role if she decides to stall the film based on these two scenes."

The role in ‘Dhoom 3’ requires the actress to do a bikini shot come what may, so if Kat does not agree to it she might see the prestigious project slip out of her hands.

According to the sources the banner already has a second choice lined up and a source confirmed, "If Kat is perisistent in her refusal, they have a newcomer who is being trained at the moment. She will be cast in the film if the star doesn`t sign on."

Actor Uday Chopra has revealed that he is set to give up his acting career after “Dhoom 3″.

“Ok confession time…Dhoom 3 is my swan song…my last film…no I’m not giving up acting…quite the opposite, acting is giving up on me!” Uday wrote on microblogging site Twitter.

The 38-year-old son of filmmaker Yash Chopra forayed into acting with his home production “Mohabbatein” in 2000 along with Jimmy Shergill and Jugal Hansraj.

Uday was later seen in “Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai”, which also did well at the box office, and has also been a part of successful “Dhoom” franchise. However, his other films failed to set the cash registers ringing at the box-office.

In fact, few days back I gave the audition for Dhoom 3 for main lead. Though I can't say anything more about it now, but I am really hoping that I would get selected." So, what else is keeping Shraddha busy these days? "Well, I recently did a reality show on UTV Bindhaas 'Love Locker'. Then you will see me in another show 'Rakhi Ka Insaaf' where I will be a celebrity guest facing allegations from my ex-manager that I haven't given him his money. So, people will see me in many reality shows in coming months", says she. And what about doing item songs for which she's know for? "I am quite keen to do very good item songs, especially if they would be sure shot hits. I want to be known internationally. Many directors are considering me for item songs and even I am trying earnestly to get some good ones", she says.
