UTV will be launching its Bollywood channel UTV STARS in the UK market on11 June. The launch comes within a year of the channel's launch in India and the Middle East.

The channel will however be called UMP Stars in the UK.

Viewers will be able to access UMP Stars for free on Sky EPG 853. Sky Media will handle the ad sales of the channel while TVMedia3.com will look after the distribution.

According to a report in Indiantelevision.com, Nikhil Gandhi, Disney UTV Executive Director - Youth Channels, Media Networks, said that the channel's primetime has an all new content which is not run of the mill like the other channels air. He added that this has in turn garnered better subscription and ad revenues.
