Article Star India salutes its Cable and DTH affiliates this 24th World Television Day

Haha! Yes. Remember when Zee raised their voices as Star Won the IPL rights as well. I don't think they had anything to loose compared to Sony, who never commented that Star is monopolising. Even if we take that Zee are worried about Dishtv then, they aren't the guys who were giving free access...

Article Star India salutes its Cable and DTH affiliates this 24th World Television Day

It's common buddy! For a network of their size if DTH's and MSO's default their money, they cannot do anything but to fight. There is much more at stake at there for them.

DDF Exclusive Star Strikes it Big at IPL Despite Covid Bouncer

Yeah that's true! That's pre NTO. Now most people are subscribed to only one of the Star Sports channels. Thats one of the reasons to have low sub revenues compared to 2018 per say. For example if we take like Star Sports have like some 20 crore household subs and it's costing around ₹12 per...

DDF Exclusive Star Strikes it Big at IPL Despite Covid Bouncer

So 3100 crores in Ad Revenue. Subscription revenue would have been another 700-800 crores or even more as well. Hotstar alone added 1 crore+ subs in September alone. Good for them.

DDF Exclusive English Movies Premiere updates

LOL! I guess Star forgot about this movie because of the dead studio they released it under (Buena Vista International). They should have atleast used TouchStone Pictures. Anyhow its telecasting before turning 2 year old. :rofl2: :rofl2:

Disney to cut back on TV, sports biz in India

I'm not saying particularly about you bro, I have seen many people assuming that without properly understanding thats why I said that.

Disney to cut back on TV, sports biz in India

Lol! As I said earlier Disney became a powerhouse because of identification and acquisition of Marquee brands. They clearly know how to sustain them as well, Marvel Studios was acquired when they are in cusp of becoming a global phenomenon. Pixar, the long sightedness of Bob Iger saw an...

Disney to cut back on TV, sports biz in India

That won't happen for sure, Star is one of the Marquee brands now for Disney. And there is no actual need of revamping Star with ESPN. They may introduce ESPN as replacement for one of the select channels but thats the whole thing. And it makes sense to have all businesses under a single brand...

Disney to cut back on TV, sports biz in India

Yeah! Last year Star reported Huge losses in its first quarter under Disney. When questioned regd that, Disney's CFO clearly said losses are mainly due to 2019 WC. So more or less Star isn't making a huge operating loss, if not making profits for IPL.

Disney to cut back on TV, sports biz in India

Yeah that I agree, But assuming Star paid a lot is wrong is what I'm saying. As whole rights were added upto 15800 crores, and Star's global bid is 16300 crores. The margin of bid is very close not like Star has lost their mind and bid out 2-3k crores more than the margin. For everyone's...

Disney to cut back on TV, sports biz in India

As I have said repeatedly, Star haven't purchased IPL by a lot, seriously go through the stats. Sony had bid 11500 crores just for TV rights in India and Facebook had bid 3100 crores only for Digital in India. Together they wound bidding for 14600 crores only for Indian rights. Star had got...

DDF Exclusive General Discussion, News & Updates on Telugu TV Channels

Star Maa is regularly updating Old movies to 16:9 aspect ratio it seems. Noticing many 1990-2000's movies playing in 16:9 in Star Maa Gold (Eventhough channel broadcasts in 4:3) as well.

Disney to cut back on TV, sports biz in India

Not only them, even others are goofing up saying Disney sold Sky. Lol they didn't own Sky at the first place how come they are able to sell is beyond me. This shows all these are more of a propaganda than editorial/ news stories with proper research.
