While a number of Tamil films are lined up for release over the next two months in Kollywood, the festival of Deepavali will see three major releases among other films preparing to cash in on the festive spirit.

The first-look posters of actor Karthi’s next film
Kashmora , directed by Gokul, were released across social media platforms last week and have grabbed attention for the setting, which shows the hero in a battlefield.

The movie, which also stars Sri Divya, Nayanthara and Vivek, is said to be a period film of the horror, comedy and action genres where Karthi sports three different looks.

Kashmora will clash with Dhanush’s Kodi and Vishal’s Kathi Sandai , which are gearing up for a Deepavali release as well.

Dhanush recently tweeted that his upcoming film Thodari, directed by Prabhu Solomon, will release in September and Kodi , where he plays a dual role will release for Deepavali. The movie directed by Durai Senthilkumar, has Trisha playing the female lead.

The film, which is produced by Dhanush, is said to be a political drama and has him teaming up with Trisha for the first time for a tamil film. Santhosh Narayanan has composed music for both Kashmora and Kodi .

After the horror comedy Dhillukku Thuttu, actor Santhanam is all set to launch his next venture in the comedy genre.

He will team up with director Manikandan again after Kanna Ladoo Thinna Aasaiya .

The shooting for the film is expected to start in October. The cast for the film, including heroine, and the title are being finalised.

The movie will be produced by Vasan’s Visual Ventures that had earlier made films like Boss Engira Baskaran and Naan Kadavul .

The same production company is launching actor Jayaram’s son Kalidas Jayaram in Oru Pakka Kathai . Santhanam, who is currently involved in Server Sundaram directed by Anand Balki, is all set to don the hero role again.
