Lot of channels will shut their shop very soon.

I was discussing about this today afternoon itself, some good channels which r Free To Air but from relatively smaller broadcasters or have limited demand they will find it tough to land or sustain on platform. Operators will be free to give space to channel or decline as reaching to audience by paying carriage fee is not possible when subscriber has power to choose channels and operator won't be willing to provide all these channels complimentary to subscribers without additional NCF

Dish TV is asking all channels approaching it or renewing contract to pay for both their platforms and most broadcasters do not agree to it.

This is the reason why some channels present on either or both these platforms r not renewing the deals or not even launching there.

This is a wrong strategy adopted by them, broadcasters should be given freedom to exercise choice as to which platform they wish to be part of. Dish should just grant additional option of granting some discount if both r selected by them
