MultiChoice’s African digital satellite TV service DStv has created a new package for the Indian community in South Africa that will include three new channels Colors, Star Tamil (Star Vijay) and Star Hindi (Star Plus).

DStv will offer a combination of North and South Indian channels into a single DStv Indian package for R319 per month or R205 as add-on to another DStv package.

Existing DStv North Indian or DStv North-South Indian customers will automatically be changed to the new DStv Indian package on 15 October, when the new package will launch.

Existing DStv South Indian customers will continue to receive the DStv South Indian standalone or add-on package. MultiChoice is also adding Star Tamil to this package.

This package will not be available to new customers or customers who disconnect for more than 90 days.

“The Indian community is very important to us—this is why we’ve reviewed our offering based on their feedback and created the new DStv Indian package.

We thank our Indian customers for their loyal support over the years and trust you will enjoy the three additional entertainment channels,” said MultiChoice COO Mark Rayner.

Colors is a Hindi general entertainment channel with English subtitles offering great content like The Anupam Kher Show, Krishna Malram, Meri Aashiqui Tum se Hi and many more family favourites.

The two Star channels (Star Tamil and Star Hindi) will showcase Star Network’s premium content from 15 October to 30 November to allow customers to familiarise themselves and get up to date with existing shows.

From 1 December 2015, these channels will change to Star Vijay and Star Plus. Customers can look forward to shows like ‘Mahabharat’, ‘MasterChef India’, ‘Coffee with Karan’, ‘Nach Baliye’ and ‘SuperSinger’
