Good News Airtel Digital TV adds 4.79 lakh net subs in Q1

Telecom operator Bharti Airtel’s direct to home (DTH) arm has added a whopping 479,000 net subscribers during the April-June quarter registering a 107.8% growth over the trailing quarter’s 230,000 net additions.

The company’s total subscriber base increased 3.4% to 14.6 million compared to 14.1 million in the January-March quarter. Average revenue per user (APRU) increased to Rs 229 compared to Rs 228 a quarter ago. Monthly churn reduced to 0.7% compared to 1.1%.

Commenting on the result, Bharti Airtel India & South Asia MD & CEO Gopal Vittal said the non-mobile portfolio continues to witness healthy growth on the back of investments in home passes and HD content.
