Thanks for the update bhai. So it seems now this service channel now available in Standard Definition . I guess this is the right decision, HD takes lot more bandwidth and as this channel has old classic shows as well as niche appeal so Standard Definition format is best suited for it. This way operator can also save on bandwidth as well as make the channel available to its subscriber base. Later on if this channel is subscribed by large number of subscribers then decision can b taken to provide it in HD format, ultimately if a channel is available in HD then good subscription revenue must b generated for it. Bandwidth being a scarce commodity, operators will always try to use it efficiently

Checked just now my XStream STB. Airtel Hits HD still available on LCN 167. So it seems like SD STB users r getting SD version (downscaled HD) of this channel and HD/XStream STB Users r getting HD Version on same LCN

they re playing age old series, x files, baywatch etc... which werent shot in HD, 25 yrs back.
So putting HD name, was just a marketing gimmick !!

It's not gimmick at all. These series are all remastered in HD. HITS is all about old series and movies.

Post some pics, including EPG. HD symbol also has been removed from HD STB.
