Amitabh Bachchan’s Pink , upon its release, received a lot of critical acclaim and that transformed into film’s success at the box office. This made people sit and discuss what’s been happening in our country as far as safety of women is concerned. Come, the award seasons and the film is sure to win several awards. But before the award season, there is a good news for the fans of the film and Amitabh Bachchan. Recently Amitabh Bachchan took to Twitter to express his happiness over the fact that, Pink has been invited by UN for the screening at their Headquarters in New York. He wrote, “T 2453 – ‘PINK’ invited for a special screening of the film at UN Head Quarters, in New York .. by Assitant Secretary General .. honoured !”

This indeed is a big honour for film which had only Amitabh Bachchan as its face value and consisted relatively new faces toplined by Tapsee Pannu. Pink is the second Hindi film to be screened at UN, first one being Sanjay Dutt’s Lage Raho Munna Bhai .

Directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury and produced by Shoojit Sircar, Pink also featured Kirti Kulhari, Andrea Tariang, Angad Bedi and Piyush Mishra among others. The film collected Rs 65.3 crore at the domestic box office after opening on a relatively slower note with just Rs 4.3 crore. This shows how word of mouth helped Pink gain momentum at the box office. This is one of the few films of the year, that work solely on its content, other being Sonam Kapoor’s Neerja.

On the work front Amitabh Bachchan will be next seen in Sarkaar 3, Aankhen 2 and the biggest of them all, Thugs of Hindostan , alongside Aamir Khan. Apart from this he also did voice-over for the animated TV series Astra Force , for the tituar character of Astra.
