Very less chance. After all there is no idea about the output of the deal. Don't know AT&T selling assets to Discovery or buying Discovery or both bearing stakes in the combined entity.

Great news for Turner in India as, after the closure of HBO channels, it was very difficult for it to survive with only Pogo, CN and CNN which are not enough to be attractive to viewers by themselves. Merging with Discovery, which has a similar niche position in India, is a great move.

Now kids channels will mostly be controlled by Disney, Viacom and Discovery+WarnerMedia with SPN (Sony Yay), ETV Bal Bharat and IN10 (Gubbare) playing second fiddle.

From the news it can be concluded that both of them are not selling their assets to each other. A new standalone media company joining all assets of Discovery and Warner Media. Both will have proportional stakes in the new entity.
I think this merger could bring some good changes in India. Even Warner is bigger but they are very slow pace in India, while Discovery is very active even they mainly have contents only in Infotainment. So through the merger launch of some TV channels & bringing some contents can be expected. Also HBO max launch can happen soon.
