English entertainment channel AXN India has unveiled its weekend content pipeline for 2015. As part of its ‘Not So Ordinary Weekend’ initiative, it will air shows like ‘Wake Up Call’, ‘Madam Secretary’, 21st season of ‘Top Gear’ and 10th season of ‘Top Chef Seattle’.

One of the new shows to look out for is the 21st season of ‘Top Gear’, a motoring show that takes viewers to locations to test the world’s most powerful and exotic cars. It will feature the trio of funny Jeremy Clarkson, quirky Richard Hammond and contemplative James May. The show will launch on 3 January, airing at 8:30 pm on weekends.

This will be followed by the American TV series ‘Madam Secretary’. Co-produced by Oscar-winning actor Morgan Freeman, the show is a political drama rooted in White House diplomacy. It will launch on 10 January, airing at 11 pm on Saturday, with a repeat at 11:30 pm on Thursday and 4 pm on Sunday.

Former CIA analyst turned college professor Elizabeth Faulkner McCord, played by Tea Leoni, is promoted to United States Secretary of State under unusual circumstances. McCord gets an offer from the president that she can’t refuse—she has to balance her complex family life and office politics as she tries to drive international diplomacy.

AXN and PIX VP and head programming and acquisitions Amogh Dusad said, “With ‘Not So Ordinary Weekend’ initiative, AXN has attempted to bring the popular and exciting shows from international studios, airing them close to US airing dates. The idea is to make weekends fun at home. We are providing differential content for all age groups and genders. The shows and slots have been built to give best programming with the best of the shows and 2015 line-up is a step towards the same goal.”

Launching on 26 January, the 10th season of the culinary show ‘Top Chef Seattle’ with Padma Lakshmi as the host will feature 21 professional chefs. It will air at 8 pm from Monday to Thursday.

The judges Tom Colicchio, Emeril Lagasse, Wolfgang Puck, Gail Simmons and Hugh Acheson are set to evaluate the chefs on culinary expertise like knife skills and creating a breakfast on a stick.

In ‘Wake Up Call’, Dwayne Johnson will lend a helping hand to common people who are facing big challenges in their lives. The show will launch on 31 January. Johnson will bring his own brand of motivation to each group of people, from 4 am wake-up calls, to emotional reunions and goal setting.

Produced and hosted by Johnson, the show will air at 9 pm on weekends.

Commenting on the shows, Dusad added, “For the two new shows ‘Madam Secretary’, a political drama produced by Oscar winner Morgan Freeman, and ‘Wake Up Call’, a reality show produced and starring former wrestler and Hollywood action star Dwayne Johnson, our idea is to focus on the ‘Not So Ordinary Weekend’ slot with Fridays at 11 pm and on Saturday and Sunday at 9 pm respectively.”
