Baahubali 2: Tamil Nadu shells out Rs 45 crore for the theatrical rights of the sequel

The Tamil Nadu theatrical rights of SS Rajamouli's Baahubali: The Conclusion, which is on the verge of completion, have been sold for a whopping Rs 45 crore.

Last year, the world witnessed SS Rajamouli's epic fantasy film Baahubali, whose visual experience made even some Hollywood films pale in comparison. While the makers are wrapping up the climax portion of the sequel, it is reported that the Tamil Nadu theatrical rights of the film, have been snapped for a whopping Rs 45 crore.

Speaking about the rights, a source close to the film's unit said, "The TN theatrical rights have been bagged for Rs. 45 crore. The buyer is yet unknown because the makers have kept the name under wraps."
In fact, ever since Baahubali's release last year, the fans can't stop asking the question, "Why did Kattappa kill Baahubali?" And Rajamouli will now return with the answers next year.

Reportedly, the makers have lavishly spent Rs 30 crore just for the climax sequence.
"The climax features an awe-inspiring battle sequence which will last for about half hour in the film. It's going to be even more grand and dramatic than the battle scene in the first part," the source added.

The film starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah Bhatia and Anushka Shetty is the sequel to 2015's highly successful Baahubali: The Beginning which grossed over Rs 600 crore worldwide. Baahubali: The Conclusion will hit the screens next year.
