Starting July 14, Bachchan's fiction debut will air Monday to Thursday at 10.30 pm.

Multi Screen Media's flagship Hindi general entertainment channel, Sony Entertainment Television, has finally announced the launch date of one of the most eagerly awaited TV shows.

Amitabh Bachchan's fictional debut on the small screen with Yudh has been in the news for long. The show will replace Balaji telefilms' 'Bade Achche Lagte Hain' on Sony. It will air Monday to Thursday at 10.30 pm.

Bade Achche Lagte Hain is going off-air. Launched in May 2011, the show got immense popularity to the channel. However, after garnering good viewership for the initial two years, the show eventually started to fade. The Ram Kapoor-Sakshi Tanwar show will air its last episode on July 10.

'Yudh' is the story Yudhishthir Sikarwar (played by Bachchan), a real estate baron, who has recently been diagnosed with a degenerative neurological disorder. It traces his journey, his struggle with his collapsing health, his battle with business rivals and his complicated family equations.

The show is co-produced by Bachchan's production company Saraswati Creations, in collaboration with Endemol India. Anurag Kashyap is the creative director while Shoojit Sircar has been roped in as a creative consultant. Ribhu Dasgupta directs the series.

Yudh will feature actors like Sarika, Aahana Kumra, Ayesha Raza, Zakir Hussain, Pavail Galati, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Kay Kay Menon, Tigmanshu Dhulia and Mona Vasu. Bachchan's 'Yudh' to replace 'Bade Achche Lagte Hain' on Sony > afaqs! news & features
