New Delhi 25 May, 2011: Bloomberg UTV – India’s premiere Business news channel, is launching ‘Building India’ – a documentary-style series showcasing 5 of India’s upcoming infrastructure projects that will accelerate the nation’s growth story.

This decade is widely accepted as India’s defining decade which sees the nation emerge as a Global economic super power. Among the various sectors of the economy that trigger growth, infrastructure has always been critical to the overall development of trade and commerce in India. Mini Menon, Executive Editor – Bloomberg UTV, speaks to the heads of 5 iconic infrastructure projects that promise to boost the nation significantly, on a global benchmark. Building India endeavours to offer an in-depth insight into the progress of each of these projects as well as projecting India’s way forward in developing its overall infrastructure.

Through a unique documentary-style presentation with on-ground reporting, Building India will focus on profiling these Infrastructure milestones along with latest updates on these projects.

The Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor: The Delhi – Mumbai Industrial Corridor is a mega roadways project connecting the political with the business capital of India.
The Mundra Port: The upcoming, state-of-the-art Mundra Port & SEZ will give Indian shipping industry the much-needed boost to make India a leading shipping hub in Asia.
The KG D6 Basin: The KG D6 Basin, among the largest rigs in the world, can transform India’s economy.
Hazira, Gujrat: The heart of Gujarat’s industrial landscape and a model development project, has inspired State Governments across the country.

Speaking on the occasion, Deepak Lamba, Business Head – Bloomberg UTV said, “For the longest time, Infrastructure has been the biggest drawback of the Indian economy and has held us from achieving our potential. With the development of new projects, support from private and public sector alike, Indian infrastructure has grown to world standards which has aided overall economic growth. As a business news channel catering to the discerning viewer with a holistic interest in the economy, it was only fitting for Bloomberg UTV to deliver what is perhaps the most comprehensive and definitive coverage of these projects.”

Bloomberg UTV is also launching Graphic Diaries. This is a creative story-telling format revolving around a unique storyline to emphasize the concept and the overall benefits of the five projects profiled by the Building India show. The Graphic Diaries will enable the viewer to connect to each of the projects at a personal level.
