MUMBAI: While it will be released in the US and in other markets like India this Friday, ‘Captain America: Civil War’ has made $200 million in the markets where it has been released. Brazil, Mexico and the Philippines are some of the markets where it had a very strong performance. This is the latest film in Marvel’s Avengers series of films. The movie pits Captain America against Ironman.

Meanwhile, ‘The Jungle Book’ topped the US box office and is expected to cross the $300 million mark in that country. comScore has announced the official worldwide weekend box office estimates for the weekend of 1 May, as compiled by the company’s theatrical measurement services.

comScore senior media analyst Paul Dergarabedian commented, “Ahead of its North American debut later this week Disney’s latest Marvel release, the massively entertaining ‘Captain America: Civil War’ launched internationally this weekend to a phenomenal $200.2 million, setting multiple records including all-time industry opening weekends in Brazil, Mexico and the Philippines. Notably, China-based title ‘Finding Mr. Right 2′ had a stellar $51 million debut in just four territories.”
