India did successfully put its second spacecraft in orbit at the Moon. Chandrayaan-2 orbiter will be up there doing science for a year. Lander would only have lasted 2 weeks.

But we lost lander.

The Project is not a failure but a near success. Even NASA failed in some of the projects causing even loss of lives. One should not lose heart. Kudos to ISRO scientists. We are proud of you.

It hurts but may be since landing on this part was always problematic, we could have done it more calmly but we beat the dhol all over. Now it is Dewali for one nation (u know). Anyway best of luck for next time.
