With its credible, responsible and unprejudiced reporting, the channel has set considerable standards in English news television genre. During the months of April, May & June, CNN-IBN had telecast innovative programming that included a series of specials around the Cricket World Cup featuring 7 former World Champions. Owing to the in-depth & precise reporting by the channel, CNN-IBN also became the most watched English News Channel during the recent state elections.

Rajdeep Sardesai, Editor-In-Chief, CNN-IBN, IBN7 and IBN-Lokmat said, "CNN-IBN's leadership during the first quarter of the current financial year has been possible because of the clutter breaking programming initiatives that we undertook during the months of April, May & June. Our programming during the World Cup with 7 former World Cup Champions or our programming during the recent 5-state elections has won us the viewer’s trust."
