MUMBAI: With the approach of the grand finale of the ninth season of ‘Bigg Boss’, Hindi GEC Colors will fill the gap on weekdays with another issue-based show, ‘Krishndasi’. Inspired by an old Tamil show of same name, ‘Krishndasi’ will launch on 25 January at the Monday–Friday 10.30 pm band.
The channel has not disclosed if it will air an original show at 11 pm as ‘Bigg Boss Nau’ runs from 10.30 to 11.30 pm on weekdays. Meanwhile, starting 30 January the next season of ‘Fear Factor: Khataron Ke Khiladi’ will occupy the 9–10 pm band on weekends. ‘Krishndasi’ had originally aired on Sun TV between 2000 and 2002. It was based on a novel written by Indra Soundar Rajan. On Colors, ‘Krishndasi’ is being produced by Optimystix Productions, along with South Indian producer Kutty Padmini, who also produced the original on Sun TV. The show will revolve around the life of a young girl named Aaradhya, played by actor and RJ Sana Amin Sheikh. She is the apple of her mother (Chhavi Mittal) and grandmother’s (Indira Krishnan) eye. While simplicity is her virtue, she is a fun-loving person who believes in living every single moment of her life to the fullest. The story will grip audiences’ interest as Aaradhya delves into her past. Colors will also air its CSR initiative ‘Mission Sapne’ from 17 January.
