MUMBAI: Celebrating its fifth anniversary, Comedy Central has launched a new programming line-up comprising fresh episodes as well as re-runs of some of its popular shows.

Comedy Central has handpicked the best episodes from five of its most beloved shows, namely ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’, ‘Mom’, ‘Citizen Khan’, ‘Penn & Teller: Fool Us!’ ‘In Vegas’ and ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway?’ The anniversary programming will continue for five weeks.

The channel will also air fresh episodes of ‘Suits’, picking it off from the mid-season finale. The channel will air the sixth season of the show from 28 January onwards, every Saturday, at 7 pm. In the latest season, Mike and Harvey will try to find out if the firm will survive with Jessica out of the picture. Are Mike and Rachel finally going to get married?

The channel will also host the Indian television premiere of the ninth season of ‘Impractical Jokers’ at 10 pm. Launching on 2 January, the show will be aired every Monday.

The Republic Day special on Comedy Central will include a daylong airing of ‘Outsourced’ from 10 am onwards. The show revolves around Todd Dempsy, an American manager who is sent to run a call centre in India.

Commenting on the new line-up, Viacom18 English entertainment programming head Hashim D’Souza said, “The last five years have been phenomenal for Comedy Central. Our viewers have become our companions in this journey to make the channel #HappyPlace! Bringing top-notch international comedy shows to Indian television has been our endeavour, and our viewers’ overwhelming response has only vindicated our motto every step of the way. Commencing this year with new shows, premieres and more, we aim to further strengthen our position as our viewers’ go-to destination for all things witty and hilarious!”
