Does D2h 6666 RF STB support 5.1 audio? How to connect it to Philips SPA 8000B home theatre. Only RCA to RCA 6 input connection on HT. What happens if Dolby Digital mode is selected and connected via Red/White RCA to RCA and Dolby Pro Logic on HT? would it suffice for 5.1 surround?

Stb supports dolby digital 5.1 but only output through hdmi port, you need a ht that supports dolby audio through hdmi to get real 5.1 audio otherwise you get pseudo 5. 1 audio

Would this decoder be perfect to get 5.1 Audio from HDMI cable?

The decoder will work, Select Dolby Digital in STB and use the decoder

You need to have
- 2 HDMI cables (Good one- 1 HDMI=800 Min)
- Decoder (Good one - 5000 Min)
- 6Ch Wires (Good one - 2 Wires 300 Min)

Input:
STB HDMI->Decoder HDMI IN
Output: (2 connections needed)
1.) Decoder HDMI out->TV HDMI IN
2.) Decoder 6 CH->HT 6CH

But you will need to spend more than 6k for the equipment you needed even considering all the offers.

Yes it's not feasible for present d2h TV channel viewing. Will consider buying if purchasing Amazon Fire stick or d2h stream box. Right now I use my PC as HTPC, 5.1 supported for Dell Inspiron 660 (3.5mm x 3 jacks= 6 RCA input for Philips SPA8000B
