David Warner blazed into
international cricket due to his
exploits in the T20 format. His fiery
innings' in several seasons of the IPL
made Warner the go-to man in T20s.
However, with his maturity as a Test
opener, Warner is thinking about
quitting the IPL in order to focus on

Writing in a column for the Herald
Sun , Warner said opening the batting
in Tests is a dream come true and
said he wanted to focus more on
Tests as that was the way forward for
him. "I pinch myself every day that
I'm opening the batting for Australia
in Test matches. I started off playing
Twenty20 and it was fantastic. I still
love playing for my country in that
format. But in the future I may need
to weigh up my options and at the
very least, consider how much longer
I play in the IPL for. I'll play in the
IPL this year, but the schedule is so
hard for us to play and there's six
weeks you could have off."

Warner said he does not want to
suffer from burn-out due to
excessive cricket. With a tough
schedule ahead for Australia in 2015,
with the World Cup in February-
March followed by the Ashes in July,
Warner emphasized on the need for
a clear mind when planning out
matches in order to avoid injuries.

"My forearm and thumb are both
really sore leading into this Test, not
that there's anything courageous
about me taking the field. But it's
more mental tiredness that I'm
worried about. I've felt it before and
I don't want to burn out."
