MUMBAI: Discovery Network has recently launched TLC, the international entertainment channel for women, on GO.
TLC will as of now transmit on GO’s Electronic Programme Guide Channel 503 for GO digital TV and Channel 303 for GO interactive TV.
The channel replaces Discovery Travel & Living and will launch with a pan-European feed with a programme schedule tailored for the local market that will include brand new shows. The channel will keep on showing many of T&L’s popular shows including Cake Boss, Kate Plus 8, Say Yes to the Dress, What Not To Wear, Toddlers and Tiaras etc.
The launch in Malta follows TLC’s launch in eight other European countries. GO will be the first operator in Malta to launch TLC that is aimed at women aged between 25 and 49 and broadcasts the best lifestyle, reality and inspirational entertainment programmes from around the world.
The channel, which finds extraordinary real life characters and tells their stories, will join Discovery Networks’ other channels already on the GO tv line-up including Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Discovery World, Discovery Science, ID: Investigation Discovery and Discovery HD Showcase.
Speaking about the introduction of TLC to the GO TV line-up, GO TV’s product manager Michèle Dandria said: “We are delighted to be introducing TLC – the amazing must-have channel for female viewers in the Maltese Islands. TLC is more than just a TV channel – it is a way of life that guarantees top-notch entertainment with a special appeal
for women of all ages. TLC hosts an exceptional mix of fiction and reality programming projected to match up with the typical lifestyle of today’s woman.”
Some important programme genres on the channel include weddings, fashion, food, parenting, travel and lifestyle.
