Dish tv had 11 transponders from SES 8 satilite at 95°E and 6 transponders from GSAT 15 at 93.5 °E. So total 17 transponders.
D2H had 13 transponders from ST2 at 88°E.

If dish tv decides d2h for South region and dish tv for North region , then it is a very good decision.

Because North region people didnot need of Tamil, telugu, malayalam, kannada channels .in the same way
South region people did not need of
Gujrati, panjabi, bengali, oria ,nort east, rajastani & bhojpuri channels.

Hindi entertainment, Hindi movies,English, English movies, kids, sports, life style, knowledge
Channels should be common for both regions.

Distribution of region is a right step in this space crunch position. If dish tv removes all South channels, than more space available, have a chance to add more channels.

We can arrange 40 sd / 20 HD in one transponder. Nowadays dth operaters include s up to 70 channels in one transponder by degrading picture quality.

I hope this strategic step may improves picture quality.

Now dish tv had telugu (20SD+1HD), kannada 11, Tamil 8, malayalam 14+1 channels available at SES satilite position.
If remove all these channels , space available of 55 new channels.

dish tv may remove ddfd channels also for more revenue; and then add those channels in their own tp. So customer has to watch by spending more penny for ddfd niche channels. (like Rs 0.10, Re1 etc)

This is right step if they make available most of the popular channels of hindi and english GECs,movies and music channels on both platform in my opinion.

No need to remove DD channels. Dish tv may share all channels from DD free dish because of same satilite position 93.5°E. without spending space from own transponders.
