Dolby atoms +4k future in BTsports

BT Sport will show its first live football match in Ultra HD and Dolby Atmos sound on January 31, 2017.

Featuring Liverpool and Chelsea, playing at Anfield, it will be the first time a UK broadcaster has used Dolby Atmos sound.

BT plans to make every subsequent Premier League match broadcast live, as well as a selection of FA Cup games, also available in in Ultra HD and Dolby Atmos.

Dolby Atmos sound combined with Ultra HD will deliver the most immersive experience possible, allowing viewers to feel as if they are in the stadium.

It will be available for no extra cost with BT TV’s Total Entertainment pack.

From this season, BT has doubled the number of sports events broadcast in Ultra HD.

BT is giving its BT Sport channel a sonic upgrade early in the New Year. Subscribers to its Ultra HD and 4K packages will be able to listen in Dolby Atmos surround sound.
