Scientifically Yours is about women Indian scientists and their achievements while Ghan Garaje is about the classical Indian music.

Doordarshan, the national broadcaster is launching two new shows titled 'Scientifically Yours' and 'Ghan Garaje: Raag Malhar' starting July 19. The former will be telecast at 8:30 pm while 'Ghan Garaje' will be shown at 9 pm.

Vigyan Prasar, in collaboration with National Institute for Science Communication and Resources (NISCAIR) has produced the interview series "Scientifically Yours". It is an interactive series on Indian women scientists who helped in shaping science. The series is a unique one as this section of society has not yet been sufficiently covered in the country.

The 13-episode series attempts at bringing women legends in science on to centrestage with their achievements and contributions and thus communicate to the youth of the country. The series aims at creating role models for students and researchers especially for girl students and motivate them in pursuing careers in science and technology.

The women scientists identified from various fields of research such as physical sciences, biological sciences, chemical sciences, immunology, agriculture include Indira Nath (pioneer in medical sciences), Bimla Butti, (physicist), Kasturi Datta, (pioneer in Cellular & Molecular Biology), Manju Sharma, (biotechnologist), Chandrima Shaha, (Endocrinologist), Chitra Sarkar (Neuropathologist), Vibha Tandon (Medicinal Chemistry), Rupamanjari Ghosh (Quantum physicist), Shashi Wadhwa (medical professional) and Sunita Saxena (Pathologist).
'Ghan Garaje: Raag Malhar', an ode to the enchanting Rain is a one-day show where Kumar Gandharva and Shobha Gurtu will perform. The show will be aired at 9pm on July 19 and will be repeated next day at 5 am and 1 pm.

The idea is to promote Indian classical music from this and bring out the dances and music that rain has inspired in India's glorious past. Some of the earlier maestros such as Mian Tansen (in the court of Mughal emperor Akbar), Muthuswamy Dikshitar (carnatic music), Mira Bai, a devotee of Lord Krishna, Baiju Bawra, Baba Ramdas, Tantarang, Tanras Khan, Bilas Khan.
Doordarshan recently launched several shows such as Ek Tha Rusty, Gaon Connection, Nadiyaan Gaati Hain, Bharat Ki Shaan: Let's Dance, Earth Matters, Yatra and others.
