dth v/s digital cable

why every dth has less channel as compare of local tv.
local cable tv has also purchase channels I think please give me information regarding this ...

cable don't have anybandwidth restriction,

by inverting cores, they ll get more channel space

I think thats the reason they are able to provide good nos of channels at low cost...
