Director Anubhav Sinha has managed to bring two rival actresses of 90’s Juhi Chawla and Madhuri Dixit together for his next film, ‘Gulab Gang’. This is the first time the two leading actresses of Bollywood will work together. In the late 80’s and early 90’s, Madhuri and Juhi are considered to be thick competitors. They fought for number one position and never signed any film together.
Let bygones be bygones and now the two beauties are coming together for Anubhav Sinha’s ‘Gulab Gang’. While Madhuri has signed the film long back, Juhi was recently signed.
Confirming the news to a daily, Anubhav Sinha explained, " ‘Gulab Gang’ is about two iconic female characters. I couldn`t have pulled off a better cast than the two most iconic female stars, Madhuri and Juhi, together for the first time on Indian screen. My film is an action and drama piece with two women at loggerheads. I needed actors who would justifiably match up to each other, both in terms of their performance and stature. I think, this is the best the film could get, because the subject material is so strong."
Madhuri was last seen in ‘Aaja Nachle’ in 2007 while Juhi was latest seen in diwali release, ‘Son Of Sardaar’. Juhi is very excited to work with Madhuri.
The film which is based on true incident about a gang called ‘Gulabi Gang’ and the film also stars Mahie Gill and Shilpa Shukla. ‘Gulabi Gang’ is a women`s group from Uttar Pradesh`s Bundelkhand region that works for the well-being of women in the region facing violence, domestic and social problems. The group’s leader Sampat Pal was recently seen in ‘Bigg Boss’.
Well, we are sure Madhuri and Juhi will ablaze the silver screen together.
