It holds the distinction of being the longest-
running show on Indian television and is Sony
TV's most popular offering. However, fans
were disheartened last month when they
learn CID is going off air.
For the past month--since The Kapil Sharma
Show premiered on April 23--CID was not
being telecast, and addicts were missing
their weekly dose of the crime-thriller.
However, fans can now heave a sigh of
relief. The show will be back in a revamped
avatar on June 4, ACP Pradyuman aka Shivaji
Satam has confirmed to India Today Online.
"Hopefully from next month it will be on air.
The revamped show will start airing in the
first week of June," says Satam.
The actor who's popularly known as ACP
Pradyuman along with his CID team shot with
The Kapil Sharma Show team recently and
the episode will air this Saturday. "We all
have interacted with Kapil on other shows
and award ceremonies. He's definitely the
best in the business. In fact we had fun
shooting with the entire team."
Satam confirms that this is the first time
CID has taken a month-long break since it
started airing 19 years ago on 21 January
1998. He adds that the spirit of the show will
remain the same but there will be some
changes.

"There will be some visible changes. I can't
reveal right now. Yes, three actors
(Hrishikesh Pandey, Tanya Abrol and Abhay
Shukla) have been asked to go from the
show. Apart from that no new actors are
being added to the cast," says Satam.
CID premiered on January 21, 1998 and is
considered the longest Indian TV series so
far.
Around 12 years back, CID set a record on
November 7, 2004, when its producer BP
Singh entered the Limca Book of Records
and Guinness Book of World Records for
filming an entire episode in a single shot of
111 minutes without a cut.
