Sky has 30% stake in TS.

Not correct. Star/Disney has 30% stake. Previous owners of Star / Fox had controlling stake in Sky hence got into licencing this name for their Indian DTH business. Now Sky and Star r owned separately hence possible that name would be dropped or if it continues then Star will exit selling their stake to Comcast (Sky).

I think already Sky Tech Team is not anymore part of Tata Sky workforce. This might also be the reason why they have fallen behind in innovation area.

By the way talking about migration or LCN changes, it will not cause major inconvenience to subscribers as compared to what happened in GSat or MPEG4 shift. This time much adjustments or physical modifications on subscriber end is not required

That's what I was wondering. Why would Sky UK be interested in Indian DTH?

I think they have some licensing agreement for that logo now. Maybe in future logo will change.

I guess TS has already done some license deal with Sky Ltd. to continue using their brand name. We have discussed this earlier. Read the details in TS website below it's written.

Sky wanted to launch on its own in 2000 that time foreign companies were not allowed to have investment in DTH to own any Indian DTH.

Then Tata being Indian company along with 21st Century fox (sky ) launched TS in 2004 where Tata has 70% and 21cf had 30%. So management was directly under Tata Sons.

No latest updates on this, old agreement might still be in place. Wait a little more changes will surely happen on multiple fronts. I think Disney won't continue as partner, they r quite conscious of investment put in

Just speculating but what if this channel shuffling across transponders is a back up plan incase Insat 4A shuts down. Tata Sky will then have only GSat 10 at hand and will try to accommodate some Insat chs on GSat while others might be taken temporarily off air

Why Gsat 31 move to 83°E when Gsat 30 Launching in next 6 months:huh: Its a plan by Ts n Isro .

Well there r numerous things which can happen, as i said that my point was pure guess based on current situation. Also remember still GSat 31 signals not tracked nor any documents in public domain suggesting allocation of transponders to tata sky.

No intention to portray an operator in negative way as some r constantly inclined to think about me. I am a person who analyses every occurrence from each angle rather than believing what suites my belief or what others carve out of it before coming to a final conclusion
