For a quite long period there were around 8 channels available in HD, mostly from Star...not sure of exact list but let me try to name...

Star Gold HD
Star Sports HD
ESPN HD
National Geographic HD
Discovery World HD
Star Movies HD

star sports HD, star gold HD, ESPN HD was launched in 2011
& others was available since 2010
no HD channel was available in 2009
so other 8 were at just Rs.50 pm in tata sky that too as addon I think

Bcoz of HD access fee only most of the customers refrain from TataSky. ADTV is best and simple in pricing. We can always have base pack plus HD top-up according to individual's wish, In tatasky we have to have ultrapack to view all HD channels apart from HD access fee, which is quite unfair.

Bro two days before I activate monthly dhamaal cricket pack at Rs300 and got the offer of Rs99 HD access pack for each month for 3 months through helpline customer care and total monthly consumption Rs399 and watching cricket in HD .So call the customer care for knowing more about that.
