The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is likely to revamp its’ team in the coming days and pave way for a new management.

It is known that the current I&B Secretary, Sunil Arora is set to retire next month. The ministry is looking to rope in a new face as his replacement.

According to media reports two other senior officers in the I&B Ministry are going back to their home cadre and the ministry is looking at introducing new faces. The report also highlighted that Arora might head the Indian Institute of Mass Communication but the replacement of I&B Secretary has not been finalised yet.

Reports also suggest that not many candidates are interested to stake their claim for the position as it involves spectrum allocation that often is mired in controversy.

Also, the appointment of the new head of Doordarshan has also been delayed. Supriya Sahu, Former, Joint Secretary of I&B was likely to join Doordarshan as Director General but is yet to take over, as she is from Tamilnadu and has to wait till the assembly elections are over before she could relocate fully to the centre.
