The International Cricket Council (ICC) has finally made a climbdown from its exalted position and has agreed to conduct e-auction for its media rights sale for the 2024-31 cycle. An hour after Cricbuzz published a report of Viacom 18 demanding online bidding, transparency and clarity on a few key points, the ICC wrote back to the Indian companies on Friday (July 15) evening that it will adopt the IPL model of e-auction from the second round.
