In a week when most pay Hindi GECs saw a drop in viewership due to the Indian Premier League (IPL), Colors all but retained its viewership share. This helped the channel snatch away the honour of being the No. 1 Hindi GEC from Star Plus, which saw almost 10% drop in its viewership. As per BARC data for the week ended 22 April, Zee TV, which retained the number three position, also saw some viewership decline. The same was the case with Life OK, Sony Entertainment Television (SET) and SAB TV. Even as pay channels lost viewership, the free-to-air channels (FTA) barring Rishtey gained viewership. Sony Pal and Zee Anmol inched up to the fourth and fifth positions respectively. Rishtey and Star Utsav remained at the same positions with the latter showing some growth in viewership numbers.
