The Indian Premier League (IPL) matches during Week 16 (18–24 April) garnered average rating of 3,316 TVTs at an all-India level and an average of 2,532 TVTs at an HSM level, as per BARC data for All India, TG: All HHs.
Nine IPL matches were played during the week under review. BARC follows a Saturday to Sunday weekly calendar.

The data is only for Sony Max, Sony Six, Sony Six HD and Sony Aath, and excludes the newly launched sports channel Sony Kix, which has Tamil and Telugu audio feeds.

IPL has propelled Sony Max to 22,5067 TVTs for the all-day period, thus helping it zoom past biggies in the Hindi general entertainment space like Star Plus and Colors.

The Hindi movie channel that airs the Hindi feed of IPL also recorded a lion’s share during primetime with a staggering 99,494 TVTs.

Multi Screen Media (MSM) CEO NP Singh said, “It would only be fair to say that we are indeed very pleased with the large base of viewers that we have captured. MAX has always positioned Pepsi IPL as the ultimate viewing destination on television and we are happy to live up to that promise. Guess this truly is ‘India Ka Tyohaar’.”
