Is Airtel's Economy Sports pack the most Balanced Sports Pack(for ROI)?

Reasons why I say this:

1. It has got 2 Good English Movie channels - Star Movies & Zee Studio

VERDICT: AIRTEL/ DISH TV

2. It has got 1 English News Channel - News X
D2H-None
DishTV-1 (TimesNOW)
TataSky-None

VERDICT: RDTV

3. It has got 7 Kids Channels - Disney, Disney XD, Hungama, Nick, CN, Pogo and now Discovery Kids
D2H-4 (No Disney, Disney XD, Hungama)
DishTV-5 (No CN, No Pogo)
TataSky-7 (No CN but has BBC Ceebies)
RDTV-5

VERDICT: AIRTEL

4. It has good Regional Coverage (though not the best)
In Bengali D2H & Dish TV have more channels

VERDICT: DISH TV/ D2H

5. It has got one International English Channel -RT

DishTV-4 (DW,NHK,RT,CCTV News)

RDTV-1 (RT)

VERDICT: DISH TV

6. It has also got 6 Quality Infotainment Channels (International brands).

7. It also has good Music Channels (9XM, Channel V, MTV etc) in the pack.


7. It also has both Zee Classic & Zee Action in the pack.
Only Dish TV has these two and that is understandable, D2H, TataSky & RDTV have Zee Classic

VERDICT: AIRTEL/ DISH TV

So considering that Dish TV does not have a defined Sports Pack and "Super Gold" pack only switches to the channel where India plays cricket and D2H though has better Sports Coverage (with Neo channels) but lacks diversity in the package... is Airtel's Pack the best?

What is your opinion?

P.S. Genie does not have an Airtel DTH in his lamp (=home)...

I think that D2H South Sports Pack is much more complete compared to the ROI Sports Pack with many more English channels. It surprises me that they didn't bother to include at least a tinge of "English" in their ROI Sports Pack!

Same goes with Tata Sky

Sun Direct's Mega Sports Pack is Best I think for ROI Customers.
It provides DD -National (For Live Indian Cricket) + DD -Sports + Ten Sports + Ten Action + Set Max (For IPL Cricket) + Star Cricket + Star Sports OR ESPN (any one of Customer's choice.) Besides, it also provides Gemini TV where customers can watch CCL Cricket every year. Moreover, as SUN TV has purchased an IPL Team it may happen so that some of the IPL mtaches will be beamed live by SUN TV as well which is available on Mega Sports Pack. Then, Set Pix is also there where a customer can watch F.A. Cup Football & N.B.A. Basketball.
Plus it provides 17 English Channels :
Star World + AXN + Prime CBS + Love CBS + Spark CBS + Fashion TV India + Star Movies + Zee Studio + Set Pix + HBO + Movies Now + NDTV 24X7 + CNN IBN + CNBC TV18 + RUSSIA TODAY + VH One English + GOD TV.

Sun has limited presence in ROI, so I didn't consider it here. However, here is my opinion (Some DTHs may have more than one Sports Packs so the comparison is based on the similar priced ones):

1. Sun DTH has the Costliest Sports Pack at Rs.289/month
2. Hindi Ent: Life OK not present
3. Hindi Cinema: CinemaTV, Movies OK, Zee Classic & Zee Action not present (Least channels among all DTH)
4. Devotional: Only 3 Channels (Least among all DTH)
5. Music: Total Only 4 Channels (2 Hindi, 1 Punjabi & 1 English) (Least among all DTH)
6. Hindi News: Only 6 channels (incl. DD News) (Least among all DTH)
7. Infotainment: Only 4 Channels (Least among all DTH)
8. ROI Regional Coverage: Poor (Least among all DTH along with RDTV)
9. Kids: Only 4 Channels (Least among all DTH)
10. English News: 4 Channels (Good-though RDTV is better)
11. Intl News: 2 Channels (Very Good as it has BBC World)
12. English Ent: 5 Channels (Best)
13. English movies: 5 Channels (Best)

So you see Bishnu-bhai, its still got to improve its ROI offerings to become a serious contender.
