Kapil Sharma To Take Comedy Nights From Colors To Star

Kapil Sharma's popular television show, Comedy Nights With Kapil, winds up on January 17.

Well, 9xe now has it that the show is not 'ending'. At least not literally.

The comedy programme, we hear, will be taken out from Colors and telecast on Star.

Kapil, who is said to be extremely unhappy with the "step-motherly treatment" meted out to his show by the channel, has been talking to Star authorities for the past two weeks.

We had told you that Kapil is upset about Comedy Nights Bachao, another comedy show on Colors, being given more preference by the channel. The scenes, star guests... he feels the new show is being allowed to copy his programme in every aspect. 9xe had also told you about Kapil being approached for the latest season of Dus Ka Dum (Sony) as well (HOT BUZZ: Kapil Sharma To Replace Salman Khan In 10 Ka Dum, December 15. We have been tracking this story and we are the first to tell you about his deal with Star as well.

Star is excited about bagging the show, which is one of the highest TRP-rakers on Indian television.

Talks are said to be in advanced stages and a deal is likely to be inked soon.

Sources say along with Kapil 'Bittoo' Sharma, his entire family -- Dadi (Ali Asgar), Gutthi (Sunil Grover), Lachcha (Kiku Sharda) and others -- will also make an appearance on Star.

Colors’ weekend flagship show ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ will be wrapping up on the channel in mid-January 2016.
Host and comedian, Kapil Sharma is reportedly unhappy with the channel after it introduced ‘Comedy Nights Bachao’ on Saturday nights. Apparently, the channel is said to be giving preference to the latter show over the long running Sharma show.
Sharma said, “We have been successfully entertaining the audience for the past three years with our content. But when our show became a habit for the viewers, they introduced another one on similar lines. Celebrities who readily agreed to come on our show were told that they will have to make an appearance on the other show as well. I understand the pressure on the channel to work towards making their shows a hit, but not at the cost of sabotaging an established one.”
‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ is expected to breathe it’s last on 17th January 2016. There are talks saying the show will move to Star Plus. An official announcement on the same is awaited.


Thus,if it happens,Colors will have to change the title of Comedy nights Bachao,as the Comedy Nights franchaisee will not be Exclusive to colors.
Even the makers and Colors will be happy if Bachao telecasts twice a week post 17th Jan.
