Kenya Tourist Board organises agents familiarisation trip to Kenya

Kenya Tourist Board recently conducted a agent's familiarization trip to Kenya from May 1-8 May, 2011. According to a release, the objective of the FAM trip was to showcase less explored areas of Kenya, highlighting product diversity be it wildlife, splendid white sand beaches, accommodation and new experience like dhow cruise, thus creating more familiarity about Kenya as a getaway for travellers especially from North & Western region of India. The trip included Kenya's capital city of Nairobi, Naivasha, Mount Kenya, Meru National Park, Malindi, Watamu & Mombasa.

The trip also included visit to the rose growing region of lake Naivasha, an animal orphanage at Mount Kenya Safari Club, Game drive to Hells Gate, Meru National Park as well as the coastal region of Kenya. The trade also visited to Casino Malindi & various beach resorts in Malindi & Watamu, as well as visits to historical places like fort Jesus, Vasco da Gama Pillar, Gedi Ruins.

The group stayed at properties like Safari Park Hotel & Casino at Nairobi, Kigio Camp at Naivasha, Fairmount Safari Club at Mount Kenya, Leopard Rock Lodge at Meru, Coral Key Resort at Malindi & Sarova Whitesands Hotel in Mombasa. The group also experienced a sunset Dhow Cruise at Watamu & Gala Dinners.
