Good news for J&K! Hopefully ZMCL will also launch WION HD and Zee Hindustan HD soon. I was afraid that it would stop after Zee Kannada News’ satellite channel and Zee News HD as per the recent report.

Now that NB News is available on Tata Play and Airtel, there are at least 12 Assamese news channels currently. Zee 24 Ghanta NE will be the 13th whenever it is ready to launch.

But there are only 4 Assamese GECs (Rang, Rengoni, Jonack and now Spondon), 2 movie channels (Indradhanu and Popular TV) and a music channel, Ramdhenu. Sadly it seems no national broadcaster seems to be considering any non-news channel in Assam.

Local broadcaster will surely launch some more non-news channels. But I don't think national broadcaster will launch any non-news chs in near future.
