Sun Network's Tamil Movie channel KTV has swung to a surprise No.2 in among the Tamil Satellite channels during the week 42.
As per the latest ratings KTV has scores 367 during the week 42 with a gain of 32 GRPs when compared with the previous week ratings that positioned the channels as No.2 in the TN market.
The Tamil movie channel usually clocks around 350 to 400 GRP in the normal circumstances and happen to clinch the No.2 position occasionally.
Vijay TV with 340 GRP stood at No.3 position in week 42 has dropped to third place due to the loss of 34 GRP against 374 GRP in week 41, otherwise used to be at No. 2 in TN market.
KTV has revisited No. 2 position in the past during the week 37, week 32 and week 27 also with an average peaking interval of once in every 5 weeks.
The recent surge of KTV was supported by the performance of its prime time movies which are being scheduled between 7PM to 10:30PM.
The gain was supported by the performance of Tamil movies like Vasul Raja MBBS , Sundarapandian and Surya Vamsam which were aired on 16th, 17th & 18th October respectively.
Sun TV stood at strong No. 1 with 1302 GRP with a loss of 29 GRP week over week.
