Laptaganj Serial Producer Arrested by Punjab Police.

Producer of TV Serial Lapataganj ArrestedAshwini VeerSingh Dheer, producer of Tv serial "Lapataganj" on Sab TV had been arrested for hurting the sentiments of Valmiki Samaj in one of the episode. He had been arrested from Film City at Goregaon in Mumbai and taken to Punjab.The case under Section 295 of the IPC (injuring or defiling place of worship with intent to insult religion or class) had been registered against nine people involved with sitcom for cracking jokes about Valmiki Samaj at Ludhiana police station inPunjab.According to Inspector Sukhwinder Singh of Ludhiana, complaint has been filed by the people of Valmiki Samaj against producer, writer and some actors. Police was trying to arrest Dheer from many days but they finally succeded on 29 july. Some people are yet to be arrested.Dheer was presented at Bandra Court, fromwhere he was permitted to be taken to Ludhiana by Punjab Police. Police will now present him at Ludhiana Court.
