Mahuaa Media, which runs Bhojpuri and Bengali entertainment channels, is gearing up to launch the regional version of game show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC).
The success of the show on Sony Entertainment Television (Set) has, it seems, tempted Mahua Network to replicate the format.
“Mahuaa has acquired the rights of KBC and Synergy Adlabs is producing the show in Bhojpuri and Bengali,” a company source said.
Mahuaa has also roped in former Bollywood actor turned politician Shatrughan Sinha and former India skipper Sourav Ganguly, to host the Bhojpuri and Bengali versions respectively.
Mahuaa TV and Mahuaa Bangla will be airing the game show after the Indian Premier League gets over.
“Yes, we have signed Sinha and Ganguly to host the show. We are launching the game show on both the channels post IPL,” the source said.
