Telecom operator MTS has launched a new smartphone dubbed the Blaze 5.0 in India for Rs 10,999. The highlight of the device is the 100GB of data that MTS has bundled along with the device along with one years validity. Users need to activate the free data pack at an additional cost of Rs 198.
MTS is expected to launch the device in nine circles including Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, UP West, West Bengal and Kolkata. The Blaze 5.0 sports a 5-inch display, but the resolution isn’t specified. It comes with dual SIM capabilities with support for both CDMA and GSM. Disappointingly however, the device runs Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, which is rather ancient in the Android universe.
The smartphone is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor, coupled with 1GB of RAM. On the camera front, one can expect an 8MP rear camera, and also a front-facing camera. The device gets an expandable memory slot that supports up to 32GB storage, but the internal memory is still unclear.
All of this will come fuelled by a 2500mAh battery that promises up to 9.5 hours of talk time. Users can also expect some pre-installed MTS apps such as MTS Playground music app, MTS TV app and MTS Wizard.
