Very bad move. Instead of Using National Geographic Name they removed the short name also

Yes 31.05.2019 they applied for trademark registration of this logo. Which is showing status: "objected"

Now (today) finally logo is changed . But it is not good to look.

Have been in use in other countries for last few months. In some countries, they even changed National Geographic channel logo to just yellow box without any text
