It's a merger, jointly operated by airtel and dish d2h but will continue to have separate identity. Merger is basically to have cost reduction by using common infrastructure where possible and maintain healthy revenue margins. Majority of decisions will be taken together to benefit both companies, some may vary.

Even when dish acquired d2h this was the strategy applied but later on d2h got into legal trouble and ultimately dish got control of rest of stake in JV company
