MUMBAI: Viacom18 has launched its preschool channel Nick Junior in India.

The channel will target 2-to-6-year-old children.


The channel is available on DTH platforms like Videocon d2h and Airtel Digital TV and other cable networks like Hathway and Den.


Earlier this year, on 15 October, Disney had also launched its preschool channel Disney Junior in India.

Viacom18 launches channel for pre-school kids

Viacom18, the joint venture between Raghav Bahl-promoted TV18 and Viacom Inc, has today launched its seventh channel in India, Nick Jr.

Targeted towards 2-6 age year group, Nick Jr is the third channel from the group in the Nickelodeon franchise kids space after Nick and Sonic, which cater to the age groups of 4-14 and 9-16 year old audiences respectively.

The pay channel will only be available on the digital platforms including Airtel Digital TV, Videocon D2H, Hathway Cable & Datacom and DEN.

The channel will have shows like Dora The Explorer, Bubbble Guppies, Go, Diego, Go etc.

Nick Jr. will be the only channel in the pre-school space after BBC Entertainment closed down CBeebies last month.
