Nickelodeon India is set for Kids Choice Awards 2016 on 5th December

Student of The Year stars Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan are set to perform at Nickelodeon’s Kids Choice Awards 2016, which will be hosted by Manish Paul .

“These awards feel more special because the winner is clearly a favourite of the kids and also boosts our morale to do better and keep entertaining our audiences,” Varun said in a statement on being a part of Kids Choice Awards India for the first time.

Manish, who has hosted numerous shows, including the celebrity dance-based show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, is “super excited” for the awards night, which will take place here on December 5.

“It’s a challenge to host live acts and even more challenging when it’s for kids because we need to be extra cautious of the gags and jokes we develop. I share a great bond with kids and it’s going to be a memorable experience,” he said.

The last edition saw superstars like Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan gracing the awards ceremony.

Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt will soon be seen in Badrinath Ki Dulhania, which is a sequel to their 2014 hit film Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. The two were recently away on the film’s shoot schedule in Singapore. 2016 has already been a good year for Alia with all her three films — Kapoor And Sons, Udta Punjab and the latest film Dear Zindagi fairing well at the box office. Varun on the other hand still awaits a hit after his last two films — Dilwale and Dishoom failed to do well.

Mumbai: Nickelodeon’s Kids Choice Awards 2016 by Nickelodeon India is the only Live Awards Show where kids get to decide who gets the coveted orange Nickelodeon blimp by voting for them. With a total of 13 categories to vote for, some of the key awards categories include Best Movie Actor (Male & Female), Best Bollywood Movie, Best Television Show and Best Indian Cartoon Character.

The Live Awards Show is slated to take place on 5th December 2016 at Reliance Studios, Film city Mumbai. The same would be telecast on Nickelodeon, Sonic, Nick Jr. and Nick HD+.
