Just wanted to enquire and share views regarding disturbance in c band transmission due to rains or bad weather.

I am receiving disturbance in c band transmission for a while sometimes due to heavy rains here in belgaum (karnataka). Sometimes there is no signal on all TPs, and sometimes weak tps show no signal too.. I am receiving Thaicom 5 and Apstar 7 on a 180 cm (6ft dish) c band universal dish, with a dual polarity 13K Universal LNBF.
Today i inspected my dish, removed all connections wiped them off for any water seepage and reconnected it and covered the connections with polythene. Currently i am getting all tps from Thaicom 5 and the strong tps from Apstar 7.

Have anyone experienced such problems in c band transmission due to heavy rains ever? Kindly discuss the matter and give solutions and measures to prevent such disturbance in transmission as far as possible due to rains and bad weather...

Your suggestions are most welcome

Well! As You Know I'm Using 8 Feet (Covering Intelsat 20, 17, Apstar 7, Thaicom 5)

My Problem Is Not Exactly Like This!

What I Have Listened Is Whenever There Is A Rain I'm Losing About 20% Signals Only! Unlike Ku-Band (I'm Totally Losing In Ku-Band)

Though My Dish Is Not Yet Fixed Well!

Actually what i know is C band transmission hardly gets effected by rains... I have discussed this problem over phone with Om prakash ji also in Rajasthan. Last year there was no disturbance in my c band dish transmission. But this time i have faced problems...

About Ku band transmission i am well aware of the rain disturbance that too in 60 cm - 70 cm Ku band dishes... 90 cm and above are less effected...

Yes! C-Band Signal Won't Get Affect Easily!

It Does Very Hardly!

Few Of My Friends Also Not Facing Any Problems In Rainy Times Also

It Seems Okay

actually after my discussion with Om prakash ji i came to know abt water seepage in my connectors especially LNBF connectors, diseqc connectors etc.. After rectifying it, now i am receiving all TPs in full signal now.

Secondly my place belgaum receives a lot of rain in monsoons, so this kind of problem is likely although not so common for a c band dish.. :)

May Be!

I Covered All Of them With Plastic Cover And Made Them Like Water Proof

Here are No any Problem on C Band Signals on heavy Rain, I think it is Depend on Signal Level and Quality, If we get Maximum Signal level and quality I think no any disturbance...m using All satellite on 12 Feet Dish And Get Good Quality Signal level So No any disturbance On heavy Rains .

I'm Using 8 Feet Only May That's The Issue
