The channel will also air movies such as 'Dharam Sankat Mein', 'Saheb Biwi aur Gangster Returns', 'Bombay Talkies' and 'One by Two'.

Rishtey, the free-to-air channel from Viacom18, is gearing up to attract more viewers. The channel is adding a diverse mix of finite fiction shows in its programming line-up, from across the border, starting June 2015.

The Hindi general entertainment channel, which launched towards the end of 2013, will now add some fresh content to extend its programming line-up. It was, so far, airing shows from Colors' library.

Raj Nayak, CEO, Colors, says, "Ever since its inception, Rishtey was well received by our audience and has turned out to be a popular free-to-air channel across India.

Upping the ante on quality content on Rishtey is a strategic move to make the channel an engaging watch for our audience. This will be an interesting offering, not only for the viewer who has a wider choice now, but also serve as an attractive proposition for advertisers and marketers who want to reach their consumers in the heart of India. Going forward, we endeavour to push the envelope further by bringing in newer content into Rishtey, as we go along further developing the channel and its offerings."

The channel currently telecasts shows such as 'Udaan', 'Madhubala', 'Sasural Simar Ka' and 'Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi'. Adding to the bouquet will be a new finite series, 'Aasmano Pe Likha' which will air every Monday to Friday at 10 pm. A romantic saga, 'Aasmano Pe Likha' is about the union of two strangers Aliaan and Qudsia who get married by tryst of fate, and their relationship grows stronger with every passing day.

In July, this show will be replaced by another social drama 'Ranjish Hi Sahi', a story of a widowed mother who yearns for affection and support while raising her children amidst acute financial crisis. Both these shows dealing with interpersonal relationships, tautly scripted by prolific authors, and portrayed by a talented team of actors, will certainly touch the hearts of the Indian audiences, the channel hopes.

Starting June 13, the channel will also air Rohit Shetty-starrer, 'Khatron Ke Khiladi-Darr Ka Blockbuster', every Saturday and Sunday at 9 pm. On Sundays, Rishtey will showcase four off-beat and critically acclaimed movies such as 'Dharam Sankat Mein', 'Saheb Biwi aur Gangster Returns', 'Bombay Talkies' and 'One by Two', as part of the channel's World Television Premiere line-up. Special afternoon movie festivals on weekdays will also liven up the programming offering. 'Akshay Kumar Movie Festival' will feature the actor's best works like 'Special 26', 'Oh My God', 'Boss' and this will be followed by an 'Action Movie Fiesta' to keep the thrill and excitement alive.
