Romtelecom has completed the acquisition of the DTH platform Boom TV from the DTH Television Group.

Quoted in ZF, Andreea Anghelof, the senior partner in the Transylvania Insolvency House, which is acting as the receiver for Boom TV, said that Romtelecom had already paid an advance for the platform.

Although a final fee for Boom TV has yet to be determined – it depends in part on the number of subscribers, each of which have a ‘value’ of around €80.08 – it is likely to be at least €7.5 million.

Following the transaction, UniCredit Bank, the largest of DTH Television Group’s creditors, is expected to recover most of the €18.5 million it is owed.

The sale of Boom TV to Romtelecom was announced in early March and was followed later in the month by the news that the telco would also acquired the AKTA Satelit DTH platform from Digital Cable Systems (DCS).
