Today, Al Yah Satellite Communications Company PrJSC (Yahsat) and SES, announced the appointment of Sami Boustany as CEO of YahLive, the HD television satellite platform for the Middle East, Europe, North Africa, and South West Asia regions, in place of the former CEO, Mohamed Youssif. Currently Chief Strategy Officer of Yahsat, Sami brings extensive expertise in driving strategic growth and will continue to work with the YahLive team to position the company as an exclusive HD satellite TV operator.

With 15 years of experience in the satellite industry, Sami has been involved with YahLive since its inception. In his new role, he will be overseeing the day-to-day operations while focusing on YahLive's growth objectives.

Shawkat Ahmed, Chief Commercial Officer of Yahsat and Chairman of YahLive commented: "Sami's knowledge, experience and dedication will ensure that YahLive maintains its growth trajectory and achieves its objective of becoming an exclusive regional HD hot spot.

"Sami will be relying on the same strong team that has brought YahLive to where it is today and will be working closely with our customers and partners to ensure that YahLive delivers on its promise to enhance the region's satellite TV viewing experience" Shawkat stated.

Mohamed Youssif, who held that position for four years, built the company from the ground up and successfully transformed YahLive into the region's ‘Home of HDTV' by establishing solid partnerships with top-tier TV broadcasters.

"YahLive is an important element in the Middle East strategy of SES", said Deepak Mathur, Senior Vice President Asia, Pacific and Middle East of SES. "SES remains fully committed to YahLive and its development. We are commencing the search for a permanent replacement of the CEO with view to ensure that YahLive becomes one of the premier video neighborhoods in the Middle East"

Broadcasting from the High-Power and state-of-the-art Yahsat Y1A satellite at 52.5o East, YahLive is a joint venture company between Yahsat, the United Arab Emirates-based satellite communications company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mubadala Development Company, and the global satellite operator SES. SES operates 44 Direct-to-Home (DTH) platforms across the globe, carrying more than 5,600 TV channels of which more than 1,500 are in HD.
